The ceremony went off without a hitch in the beautiful St. James church in Waterdown.

I always check the weather like almost obsessively through out the week when I know that I have a wedding coming up that weekend.  It’s just good to be prepared and to know what to expect.  Well throughout the week last week it said rain maybe, then rain a little bit, then on the morning of their wedding, it said 100% chance of rain!!!   Although it was dry all morning and I had hoped it would hold off…. it didn’t.  But you know, it didn’t matter.  Brandon and Rachel were just so super happy to be married, nothing was going to dampen(if you pardon the pun) their big day!  Here is a sneak peak for part 1 “getting ready”

Ok so there is this trend in photography that has been around for a few years now thanks to the master  Jesh de Rox who lead the way for this incredible alternate expression of photo editing.  I have been dabbling in it for a few months now, and really liked what I have been seeing with my portrait work.  However I had yet to try it on still stuff.  I just grabbed a new texture set this week and love the feel that it gives to still photos.  Changes it from a pretty picture… to more artsy.  And I love it!! 

Check out some tulips I was experimenting with yesterday.   Again I love all flowers, but tulips and other spring flowers just sing to my heart that finally winter is over and it’s time to be outside again and smile and feel the sun on your face and twirl and look for shapes in the clouds.  

  And then also I had to try it with one of the girls photos from the other day, and it makes me love it even more!!  Makes me smile and makes my heart sing a little!

Spring is so here.  I am beyond excited as it is my favourite time of the year.  I love flowers and gardening so it is a given, but also I love it because my kids can finally get outside and play and be noisy get dirty and I can safely enjoy it all happening outside. :)  This brings us to sandboxes.  I get that they’re fun for kids, I even remember spending hours playing in them as a child myself.  But what happened to me and my relationship with sand??  I can’t stand the feel of it, especially in my shoes!!  It is so strange.  But my kids love it, and that is what is important here.  So on the weekend Chris went and picked up a turtle box and man do we ever have happy kids!!    Bree was having a ball, and I wanted to grab some shots of her playing so nicely from a distance with my new 70-200mm 2.8

I probably say this every time, but these are my new absolute favourite photos of the girl!  I love how the sand below her acted like a reflector and filled in the shadows under her hat!!   She heard my clicking though and had to put on a bit of a show for me.  I would expect no less!

Quirks?? I have no quirks!! (inside joke between Chris & I!)

ok here we go

1.  For some reason I can not let the microwave completely reach 0. Ever.  I hate the beeping.  But sadly I don’t cancel the remaining time, I just leave it to use next time.  I think it’s very efficient!

2. I have a freakish fear of insects inside my house, especially those ones with a gazillion legs that are insanely fast!   Same bugs outside, don’t bother me at all.  

3. I am addicted to chapstick.  Seriously.  I have tubes of chapstick all over the house and in my purse and in the car.  I don’t usually wear lipstick, but I won’t leave the house without chapstick!

4. I still havn’t got my taxes done, eeeek and they’re due tomorrow!!  Going to my accountants house(aka dad) this morning!  I think he has them mostly done, I have been totally dragging my heels on this one! 

5.  I am allergic to emptying the dishwasher.  But I totally don’t mind filling it up!  It’s a good thing it’s my husband’s favourite job to empty it!

6. I always back into parking spots.   I actually back in better than I do pulling in front ways!!

Big congrats to mom and dad and new big sister M!!   Little miss H was so peaceful and content and super sleepy at 11 days of age and I couldn’t have been happier.  I tell all my new moms & dads to be to please book your newborn session within the first 2 weeks so we can get these super yummy sleepy new baby photos.

With the final traces of snow nearly melted away, and warmer days coming, I am hopeful that spring is finally here. I am a bit impatient in the best of times, but knowing that the nice weather is on the brink of arrival.. I get a wee bit excited. I am not sure who is more excited about the nicer weather myself or the kids! We have been stuck inside for TOO long and as long as it’s not pouring rain out we go!
We went to pull out Brianna’s bike from last year and when she got on and realized that the girl has grown a good 4-5 inches there is no way she could ride that without being doublejointed… so we decided to go and visit our favourite store, Canadian Tire, and grab her a new bike. I will admit that Chris had it all picked out from the moment we arrived at the bike isle. I wasn’t sure at first, but now have fallen in love with it, which I know sounds rediculous for it is just a bike. But it is the most girly bike EVAH! I think it is the bike I always wished I had. She loves it. I love it. The boy wants to love it, but is too short… but without further adieu, may I present the ultimate girly 4 wheeled biking machine, the “cream soda”

I had the great opportunity yesterday to share in the celebration of the upcoming arrival of Susan & Matt’s new little bundle.   It was so much fun to meet your extended family and of course little miss A.  She is gorgeous and adorable and I am so glad that we got some great shots of her being her sweet little self. 

I have to admit I love photographing expecting momma’s to-be.  There is just something so exciting about the anticipation and wonder of a new blessing in a family’s life.    Susan you looked positively radiant and I hope that you love your photos!!  I know this new little one is going to be just as precious as your first!!  Can’t wait to meet him/her!

Matt & Sam are young, fun and way too cool!  We weaved our way through the city streets and bike paths and the coolest place yet, a building previously used as a prison/holding area for people on their way to prison.   I love architecture with some meaty history, just makes you wonder about the stories the walls must hold.

SO cool.   The stones used in the wall where the inmates were kept active were all intricate and unique, and very tall.  Combine that with some fabulous blue sky and a sun that was trying to convince us that spring was on the way and we got some great shots!!  Thanks again so much guys for having me out to your city!  I enjoyed it all immensely and here is your sneak peak!

It was so lovely to get together with this beautiful mum & dad to be, for many reasons, one of which that we have been online friends for quite some time, and it was great to get to talk and meet her hubby and do some fun belly photos!! 

 Mum was allllll baby!! so natually beautiful and just so neat to see the love her and hubby shared.  You guys are amazing and I can’t wait to see the new little one and her big sister too!(big sister was too sleepy for photos, but we’ll see her when baby arrives in the next few weeks).
